BIOGRAPHY

Becky Jane is an oil painter based just south of Nashville between Hohenwald and Hampshire. She takes inspiration from nature and the skies above. When not in her studio, she loves hiking where she often uses her camera to examine intricacies of the wilds.

A teacher, mother, grandmother and former magazine founder/publisher, newspaper editor, and graphic designer, she currently lives with her husband and Thomas the cat in middle Tennessee.

"My art is approached with lessons learned. When a subject really speaks to me, its my story to try to tell. a lesson carried over from my journalism days."

Artists who influence her work include John Constable, Mary Cassatt, and Paul Cezzane. Most recently Becky Jane studied under Duane Keiser (A Painting A Day) of Richmond, Virginia and Dawn Whitelaw of Nashville.
